The program consists of twelve hundred (1200) hours of theory & practical skills necessary to become a barber/stylist in the State of Florida. The program is designed to develop the student’s integrity and motivation in order for them to become successful barber/stylists. Every effort is made to ensure that each student receives well-balanced training, by responding to the needs of the beauty industry. Florida Academy of Health and Beauty will be mixing traditional barber training, as well as today’s modern hair styling techniques, to ensure that our student will be on the cutting edge of the barber industry.

Special Note: Florida Academy courses are assigned an alpha-numeric identifier. For example the Cosmetology Program have the suffix “C” and are numbered sequentially.

Prior to applying for licensure, all beauty students are required to take a H.I.V./A.I.D.S course.
Restricted Barber is a 600 hours which can be completed within 5 months. While completing these required hours, students are taught through classroom lecture, demonstration, and hands-on training in a clinic setting, where they practive skills on mannequins and clients. This program consists of two zones, each with a specific focus.

For the first 150 hours of this program, you will complete a Basic Requirement Boot Camp Hands-On Training on. After you complete 150 years of your program and pass the required test, you will advance to the Student Salon Floor to continue with your hands-on experience while practicing on the general public.
